- cash at signature matters or you want the deposit amount before the demo: Oyster's terms require a refundable deposit of at least one month of the fees owed, which include the employee's own monthly cost, before work starts, and its $699 fee is $100 above Remote's $599 on annual contracts and $500 above RemoFirst's $199.

One price is printed for employment: USD 699 per employee per month, in 120+ countries, with no minimum number of team members. Annual discounts are available through seat-based annual billing; the discounted fee is not shown. The page read on 2 September 2026 listed no contractor management price; the one read on 24 September 2026 prints USD 29 per contractor per month after 30 days free, which the tables on this site now carry.
The deposit, as written
Oyster’s FAQ states that a refundable deposit is required for EOR team members ‘to initiate the engagement and to ensure on-time payments’. The pricing page publishes neither an amount nor a formula; the terms publish a floor. Section 15 sets an initial deposit per service agreement ‘in no case less than an amount equal to one month of the Fees owed’, lets Oyster call a supplementary deposit on five days’ notice when costs rise, and returns the balance within 60 days once nothing is owed. The fees it lists include a Service Fee tied to the team member’s monthly cost and Administrative Costs covering the contributions, so, read that way, the floor is one month of the whole invoice, not of the $699. Playroll prints an exact formula (one month’s salary) on its pricing page; Oyster’s is a minimum in its contract. The best-for pages rank on cash to start from what pricing pages quantify, so they still flag Oyster’s deposit as stated but unquantified.

How we are paid by Oyster

Remote, by contrast, states no standard deposit; Playroll states one month's salary, and Borderless AI 1.5 months of the employee's fully loaded cost by ACH, 3 by wire.

Multiplier prints its annual rate next to its monthly one ($459 against $499 monthly); Remote prints only its annual-contract price, $599.
