How the ledger is computed

Four lines, in this order.

  1. 1
Gross salary in USD, converted to the local currency at the ECB reference rate of 2026-09-02 so that local caps and floors apply correctly.
  2. 2
Statutory employer charges: each contribution the country's authorities publish, applied to its own base (gross, basic wage or a fixed amount), floored and capped where the law does, switched off where a salary threshold excludes it.
  3. 3
Statutory extras that are owed every year, such as a 13th month or a holiday allowance. Contingent items (severance, profit sharing) are listed on the country page but kept out of the total.
  4. 4
The provider's published fee per employee per month, monthly billing, on the date shown. 'From' prices are the provider's own floor; quote-only providers show no total.

Questions people ask before booking a demo

How much does an EOR cost per employee per month?
Published EOR fees run from $199 to $699 per employee per month across the 8 providers that list a price (checked 2 Sept 2026); one other quotes only. The fee sits on top of gross salary and statutory employer charges, which add from +6% (India) to +37% (Italy) at the example salaries used here.
Does the total include deposits, FX margins or benefits?
No. The total is gross salary plus statutory employer charges plus the published fee. Deposits (Oyster and Playroll state one; Remote states none except in rare cases), FX margins on non-USD payroll and optional benefits are billed separately and differ by provider, so they are listed per provider rather than estimated.
Why is the employer on-cost different from what the provider quoted?
Providers quote on the actual contract: state or region, salary band, contract type and benefits chosen. This engine uses the statutory rules published by each country, applied to the salary you enter, with the assumptions shown on the country page. Treat it as the floor to negotiate from, not the invoice.
How do I calculate the cost per employee through an EOR?
Gross annual salary, plus the statutory employer charges of the country (each contribution on its own base, floored and capped as the law writes it), plus recurring statutory extras such as a 13th month, plus the provider's fee per employee per month. Divide by twelve for the monthly figure. The engine above does exactly that and shows every line; at $30,000 in India the result is $2,641 a month before the fee.
How much does Rippling EOR cost per employee?
Rippling does not publish an EOR price: on 2 Sept 2026 its pricing page asked for a custom quote and its Global EOR page carried no figure. Select Rippling in the engine to see the salary and statutory charges you would add its quote to; the 8 providers that publish a price are shown with full totals.
